In November 2000, Brian Olson, a devoted father, community citizen, and 15-year HP employee, died  from complications of colon cancer. He was only 39. In Brian’s honor, a volunteer committee comprised  of Hewlett-Packard employees established the Brian Olson Memorial Classic (BOMC).

The first tournament was held in 2001 and has since raised over $500,000 for the St. Luke’s Mountain  States Tumor Institute, one of the most highly regarded cancer treatment centers located in the Western  United States. Our mission is simple – fight against the colon cancer that is taking too many lives by  promoting awareness, education, and early detection programs. Colon cancer caught in its early stages  is treatable…catch it late and the chances of surviving are slim.
